Declan MacGabhann
Managing Director
Declan takes the leading role in setting and executing Syntec’s vision and strategy. He is responsible for securing new contracts and maintaining existing projects and customers. A qualified QS, Declan know precisely how to make things work as requires within the confines of a budget.
Pat Meagher
Finance Director
Responsible for Syntec’s overall financial position, Pat oversees the profitable long-term growth of the business. He’s open, good-humoured and committed to empowering staff, particularly on skills development to create new opportunities for both them and the business.
Tiernan Bourke
Operations Director
Tiernan’s in-depth knowledge of construction methods and practises, ensures deadlines, quality standards and financial targets are met. He oversees the efficiency of Syntec’s processes and controls, and drives the company’s commitment to Health & Safety compliance on site.
Ronan Bourke
Director of Building Performance
Ronan has overall responsibility for sustainability and is passionate about decarbonisation. He leads the company in exploring new building materials, techniques and practises to ensure all our new developments are low carbon, high performance buildings.
Investing in our people is a priority – we’ve developed a dedicated team, many of whom have been with us since the early days. Alongside the Directors, our line-up includes Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Procurement and Accounts teams, a Human Resources and Marketing Manager, as well as admin and on-site employees. And we can call upon the expertise of our trusted sub-contractors and a host of specialist agency workers for specific projects.

Work hard, play hard
The Syntec team love nothing better than outdoors fun and games. Whether taking part in Tough Mudder, games of Tag Rugby, running half marathons, impromptu rounders matches, Wednesday night football – there’s always something sporty going on. And Finance Director Pat (who only runs when he hears a packet of biscuits being opened) is there with his camera to capture the action.
Join us for lunch or Friday night drinks
We regularly make time for informal lunchtime gatherings at the office, where Operations Director Tiernan swaps his hard hat and high-vis for chef’s whites and cooks lunch for everyone. And most Fridays find the team getting together for a drink or two.
